Freightview FAQs

What exactly is Freightview?

Freightview is a shipping transportation management system. It's easy to set up and easy to use. Customers love it because it lets them see all of their negotiated freight and parcel rates in one place instead of going to a lot of different carrier websites.

How long does it take to implement Freightview?

Initial setup takes less than ten minutes. All you’ll need to do is add your contact information, shipping locations, and the carriers/brokers you work with to your account. Once you’ve selected your carriers, we connect you to all of them in less than 48 hours. Some may connect almost instantly.

How do you connect with my rates?

Unlike a traditional TMS, we use instant and seamless API technology. Once you add your carriers, there are no contracts or tariffs to sift through. We’ll connect directly to your carriers’ systems behind the scenes to access your freight and parcel rates in real time. It’s fast and simple, and because we’re directly connected to your carriers, you’ll only have to set your carriers up once. Freightview will instantly update any changes made to your rates in the future.

But my rates are *special*. I’ve got FAK’s, pallet pricing, etc..

Can you get those rates from your carrier’s website? If yes, then you’ll be able to see them on Freightview!

How will using Freightview affect my carrier relationships?

We give you instant visibility to all your carriers for every lane. We centralize your carrier network, making it easier to manage and utilize. You can also export all your shipment data into a .csv file, or use our built-in analytics to negotiate the rates you want with your carriers.

Do you provide your own rates, or negotiate rates with carriers?

We are not a 3PL, so we do not negotiate any rates with the carriers or have a brokerage license. As a neutral TMS, we act exclusively as a platform for you to connect with the rates that you already have in place with your carriers and brokers.

Will you share my rates with anyone? Is my info secure?

We are a completely neutral platform, and under no circumstances will we share your information or pricing with any other party. We strive to empower the shipper to take control of their carrier network, not the other way around.

Do you support volume LTL, partial truckloads, full truckloads, flatbed or intermodal?

We do. We allow shippers to get spot quotes for these types of shipments from their multiple carrier reps as well as manage the execution of these shipments on Freightview.

Do you support international shipments?

Freightview works for LTL shipments within the US and to and from Canada.

How many users can I add?

There is no limit to the number of users you can add to your Freightview account.

Do I have to sign anything to start my free trial?

Nope. There’s no contract and we don’t need your credit card information when you sign up for your free trial. We give you a 14 days free, and after that you can enter your payment information. You can cancel at any time. We want you to maintain control over your shipping process.

Does the customer see their specific rates or different rates?

Your customers see the specific rates you've negotiated with them.

Will anyone other than the customer be able to see my rates?

No. We keep rates safe, secure and secret. We never share a rate with anyone else. For more details, see our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

How do you get the rates into Freightview?

We connect to your Application Programming Interface (API), aka web service. Our technology team will work with yours to make sure rates are flowing. If you don't have an API, we can meet you where you are. Drop us a line to get the process started.

If my customer also works with brokers, will they see two rates?

No. We know that your blanket rates through brokers are only intended for new customers, not existing ones. If your customer has direct rates with you and also gets your rates through one of their own brokers, we'll make sure they only see your direct rate.

How do you make money?

We charge shippers a monthly subscription fee to use Freightview.

Is Freightview a broker?

No. We make software to help shippers and carriers communicate with each other. We're not a broker, and we never will be.

What's in it for me?

When one of your customers is using Freightview, you know that they're seeing your brand name and rate every time they run a quote. Also, unlike other transportation management systems, you're in control of the rating since pricing is retrieved in real time from your website, not loaded from a rate sheet.
